Winter Quarter Update

Updated: Feb 20, 2020

It's midterm season again and the Pitches are hard at work, both academically and musically! Here's what's going on this quarter:

- CARA (Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards) nominations for 2020 have been released and we are so excited to announce that songs off of our album Made to Fly have been nominated for THREE awards! "Love Never Felt So Good" has been nominated for Best Jazz/Big Band Arrangement and its arranger Isaiah Carter has been nominated for Best Professional Arrangement for a Scholastic Group (thanks for writing a total bop for us Isaiah!). Last but not least, our very own founder and proud alum Thaddeus Demeke was nominated for Best Mixed Collegiate Arrangement for "Wings/Be My Husband". Results come out on April 5th--wish us luck!

- We're getting interviewed by Acaville Radio! Release date TBD, but make sure to tune in when that happens to hear us talk about our ICCA experience and how amazing it has been :)

- We have an upcoming performance! We're returning to A Cappellooza for a second year, a fun event hosted by YOUTHphonics. Come out to the Northwest Campus Auditorium on Sunday, March 1st and watch some amazing performances by UCLA a cappella groups (including us!) as well as learn about the wide array of community service organizations the campus has to offer.

- And of course, we can't forget to mention that our ICCA Semifinal is coming up at the end of the quarter! We've been busy fine-tuning and perfecting our ICCA set, and can't wait to share it with you all again.

Thanks again to all the love and support everyone has shown us as we continue to grow and evolve as a group! We really couldn't have done it without you <3
